Organolithiums in Enantioselective Synthesis

Part of the book series: Topics in Organometallic Chemistry ((TOPORGAN,volume 5))

Abstract

Enantioselective carbanion rearrangements induced by lithiation α to oxygen have recently progressed dramatically. In this chapter, an overview of this field is presented. The first section concerns asymmetric Wittig rearrangements. Asymmetric retro-Brook rearrangements are then covered, followed by rearrangements of phosphate to phosphonate. The last section reviews asymmetric rearrangements of lithiated epoxides.
