Abstract
The other primary grammatical relation besides functor–argument structure (hypotaxis) is coordination (parataxis). While functor–argument structure typically combines different parts of speech, i.e., verbs with nouns, adjectives with nouns, and adjectives with verbs, coordination combines expressions of the same kind, i.e., nouns with nouns, verbs with verbs, and adjectives with adjectives.
