Introduction

Abstract

This book describes the anatomical basics of wood technology (Table I.1) and dendrochronology. Long sequences, so-called chronologies and absolute dating are the magic words. The method of cross-dating gives each growth ring as it is shown in its microscopic structure in the present book, an absolute date, and a calendar date (I.2).
