Zusammenfassung

Durch Veränderung der zellulären Strukturen, insbesondere der DNS und der Zellkernmembranen, können ionisierende Strahlen die Zellfunktion beeinträchtigen. Es kommt zu letalen, subletalen oder potentiell letalen Strahlenschäden an Tumor- und Normalgeweben. Subletale und potentiell letale Ereignisse werden u.U. repariert, im Tumor seltener und langsamer als im Normalgewebe. Bei einem letalen Schaden sterben die Zellen ab, entweder im betreffenden Zellzyklus oder erst im Verlauf weiterer Zellteilungen (Interphase- oder reproduktiver Zelltod, ausführlichere Darstellung bei Sauer 2003 oder Fritz-Niggli 1997).
