Zusammenfassung

Im Zentrum der bildgebenden Diagnostik in der Onkologie stehen infolge der technischen Errungenschaften mehr denn je die Schnittbildverfahren, allen voran die Computertomographie und die Kernspintomographie. Beide Verfahren sind vielfach äquivalent. In der onkologischen Diagnostik des ZNS und des muskuloskeletalen Systems ist die Kernspintomographie (MRT) der Computertomographie (CT) allerdings eindeutig überlegen. Die Lungendiagnostik andererseits ist eine Domäne der Computertomographie. Die Fluor-Desoxy-Glukose-Positronenemissionstomographie (FDGPET) ist zwar ein sensitives, vielfach jedoch wenig spezifisches Verfahren. Die klinischen Erfahrungen erlauben derzeit noch keine abschließende Bewertung der PET-Indikationen. Die FDG-PETweist in der Regel zuverlässig Steigerungen des Glukosestoffwechsels nach, die jedoch nicht in jedem Fall verläßlicher Indikator für Malignität sind. Am ehesten werden PET-Indikationen bei resektablen nicht-kleinzelligen Bronchialkarzinomen zwecks Sicherung eines normalen mediastinalen Lymphknotenstatus, beim CUPSyndrom im HNO-Bereich nach Ausschöpfung aller übrigen endoskopischen und Schnittbildverfahren sowie in der Vitalitätsbeurteilung residualer Lymphknotentumoren nach Chemotherapie gesehen (Reske und Kotzerke 2001).
