Zusammenfassung
Auf zellulärer Ebene sind Tumoren genetisch bedingte Krankheiten. Diese Erkenntnis resultiert wesentlich aus der Beobachtung, daß gleiche Tumorentitäten sowohl sporadisch als auch familiär bzw. entsprechend einem dominanten Mendelschen Erbgang mit unterschiedlicher Penetranz und oft erheblich variabler Expressivität auftreten können. Letzteres gilt besonders für solche Entitäten, bei denen innerhalb einer Familie Kombinationen histogenetisch oft nicht zusammenhängender Tumoren auftreten (z.B. Retinoblastom und Osteosarkom), aber auch zusätzliche körperliche Auffälligkeiten (z.B. Aniridie beimWilms-Tumor; marfanoider Habitus bei der multiplen endokrinen Neoplasie Typ 2 B) vorliegen.
