Zusammenfassung

Bis vor wenigen Jahren stand fast ausschließlich die unkontrollierte Proliferation von malignen Zellen im Brennpunkt der klinischen und experimentellen Onkologie. Das gängige Malignommodell mit exponentiellem klonalem Wachstum orientierte sich implizit an der mechanistischen Katastrophenanalogie eines losgelösten Schneeballs, der in einer entsprechenden Umgebung zu einer unhaltsam destruktiven Lawine anwächst.
