Die Knochenszintigraphie zählt seit über 40 Jahren zu den häufigsten Untersuchungen in der Nuklearmedizin, auch wenn zugestanden wird, dass CT und v. a. MRT zu einer Reduktion der Nachfrage beigetragen haben [s. Literatur auf ➭ 10.1]. Durch die Entwicklung von SPECT gab es eine gewisse Gegenbewegung: Knochentumore, Fieber unklarer Genese, infektiöse und inf lam matorische Erkrankungen, deren Ursache anderweitig nicht abklärbar ist, sind Indikationsspektrum der Szintigraphie mit 99mTc-markierten Antigranulozyten-Antikörpern (Immunszintigraphie) [➭ 10.2].
