5.7 Summary
In this chapter, an innovative Java-based intelligent agent development platform known as iJADE (intelligent Java Agent-based Development Environment) was introduced, and its basic framework and the main modules in the model were described. The current release of the iJADE development kit, the so-called iJADK (intelligent Java Agent-based Development Kit, version 2.0), was described, as was the agent interaction mechanisms and basic operational details. By illustrating some of the typical and basic iJADE agents, it is hoped that readers will gain a basic impression of the design and implementation of iJADE agents.
For details on current developments in iJADK, refer to the official iJADK site http://www.iJADK.org. A free version of iJADK can also be downloaded from this site and incorporated into one’s own agent applications.
