Dieckmann, W. Ber. Dtsch. Chem. Ges. 1894, 27, 102. Walter Dieckmann (1869–1925), born in Hamburg, Germany, studied with E. Bamberger at Munich. After serving as an assistant to von Baeyer in his private laboratory, he became a professor at Munich. At age 56, he died while working in his chemical laboratory at the Barvarian Academy of Science.
