Zusammenfassung

Die Geschichte der Leistenhernien reicht vom Papyrus Ebers über verschiedene Epochen bis hin in die Neuzeit. Sie entwickelte sich über verschiedene Stufen bis zu den jetzt etablierten Therapieverfahren. Trotz moderner Entwicklungen mit Verwendung unterschiedlicher Applikationstechniken sind die Reparationsverfahren ohne Netz immer noch der „golden standard“. Das operationstechnische Vorgehen der Reparationsverfahren nach Shouldice-Bassini zur Therapie der Leistenhernie und Lotheissen-McVay zur Therapie der Femoralhernie wird in den einzelnen Schritten der Präparationsphase und der Reparationsphase dargestellt.
