Abstract
We have generated femtosecond pulses of 700-nm bandwidths in a 3–4 µm spectral range by an optical parametric amplifier based on periodically-poled LiNbO3. Numerical study indicates the possibility for generating ∼25-fs pulses by pre-chirp compensation.
