Zusammenfassung
Die Finanzberichterstattung von Unternehmen erweist sich als zunehmend ungeeignet für die Anforderungen einer Wissensgesellschaft, da immaterielle Vermögenswerte nur unzureichend berücksichtigt werden können. Der Begriff „Intellectual Capital“, also das in Unternehmen vorhandene Wissen und Know-how, versucht den konzeptionellen Brückenschlag zwischen der finanzwirtschaftlichen und strategischen Sichtweise auf immaterielle Faktoren. Immer mehr Firmen, allen voran Versicherungsunternehmen, messen ihr „Intellectual Capital“ und implementieren ein Intellectual-Capital-Management. Der Beitrag erläutert die Theorie der Messung und Kommunikation von Intellectual Capital im Versicherungswesen und beschreibt detailliert zwei Beispiele aus der Praxis.
