Zusammenfassung

Meteorismus und Flatulenz sind häufige gastrointestinale Symptome, deren praktische Bedeutung stark variiert. Als Symptome organisch fassbarer Erkrankungen können sie definitiv oder intendiert kausal behandelt werden, während ihre Therapie auf der Grundlage funktioneller Störungen symptomatisch oder auch empirisch bleibt und neben Medikamenten diätetische sowie physikalische Maßnahmen einschließt.
