Abstract
The theory of modules over noncommutative rings, and the study of the structure of the rings themselves, can be taken well beyond the framework of general definitions and almost obvious properties treated in the preceding section, provided we restrict ourselves to objects satisfying the strong, but frequently occuring property of semisimpleness.
