Abstract

The samples of galaxies selected by virtue of their warm infrared colors defined from IRAS measurements contain large numbers of previously unknown AGN. X-ray measurements are reported for 7 of these. Their optical properties suggest different percentages of Seyfert 1.9s and narrow line Seyfert is than have been found using other selection techniques. The one non-Seyfert x-ray detection is of a galaxy with an HII type optical spectrum. It has an x-ray luminosity several times higher than the starburst galaxy NGC7714.
