Abstract
After a brief introduction reviewing our results on molecular clouds and star formation in the outer galaxy, we pose some questions about the implications for understanding molecular clouds, star formation and galactic structure. Molecular clouds and HII regions are found as distant as 18kpc from the galactic center. Evidence for a molecular arm coincident with the HI arm at ≈13kpc is discussed. Questions are raised about arm/interarm contrasts, and the cloud size distribution and initial mass function in the outer galaxy.
