Abstract

DQS is a multidatabase system integrating heterogeneous distributed databases in a SNA network of IBM mainframes. It is a relational system with SQL implemented as the data language. DQS architecture and software organization are presented. Principal implementation problems, such as distributed query processing and optimization are discussed.
