Abstract

Astrophysical S-factor for the reaction 3He(α,γ)7Be, which is one of the key reactions for the solar neutrino problem, is microscopically investigated in terms of the resonating group method. After removing several uncertainties from the theoretical calculation of the S-factor, we obtain a value S = 0.508 keV-barn at Ecm = 10 keV. This value supports a series of the Caltech data.
