Abstract

The properties of local supersymmetric (LS) grand unified models based on the gauge group (N=1 supergravity)xSU(5) are described. The gravitational interactions of supergravity cause a dynamical symmetry breaking of both SU(2)xU(1) and super gravity at the mass ms = κm2 ∼ 300 GeV where m is the scale of supersymmetry breaking. These results are maintained at the one loop level. The models described are realistic in that they are in accord with low energy phenomenology.
