Abstract
We review the theory leading to the generalized Wigner lattice picture for interacting electrons on a one-dimensional chain. The way in which this picture is modified by band motion effects is studied in a particular case. It is found that the generalized Wigner lattice correlations are little changed in the range (3/4)B<V<∞, where V is the nearest neighbor interaction and B the bandwidth.
