Abstract

Among the most studied heavy ion reactions we find the elastic scattering of identical nuclei (cf [4], [13], [14], [35]). Typical examples for that are the elastic scattering of 12C on 12C or 16O on 16O. With such scattering experiments one tries to get insight into the interaction between complex nuclear systems. The measured cross sections serve to test the theoretically predicted nucleus-nucleus potentials, kinetic energy operators and the coupling potentials to inelastic channels.
