Abstract
This succinct chapter on osteonecrosis and osteochondrosis in the wrist and hand describes the aetiology and typical bones involved in these conditions. A description of the available of imaging modalities including plain radiographs, computed tomography, scintigraphy and Magnetic resonance imaging are described with their strengths and weaknesses. Detailed individual description and classification of carpal bone osteonecrois and osteochondrosis including Kienbock’s disease of the lunate and the rarer Preiser’s disease of the scaphoid are included.
