Abstract
High precision motion control has become an essential requirement in today’s advanced manufacturing systems such as machine tools, micro-manipulators, surface mounting robots, etc. Although various approaches to the design of better controllers have been proposed in the literature, control problems associated with system uncertainties, the presence of high-order dynamics and system inherent nonlinearities remain big challenges for control engineers.
