Abstract

This Chapter describes a reference scenario that has been extracted from the IST-funded WardInHand project (IST-1999-10479). The scenario depicts access to electronic patient data by professionals (i.e., doctors and other medical staff) in a ward of a hospital, using an iPAQ device. The scenario, as described below, provides only an extract of possible tasks and activities enabled by the WardInHand prototype. The designated tasks have been selected to suit the aims and objectives of IS4ALL. Other tasks, such as setting and initiating workflows, are deliberately excluded from the current version of the scenario.
