Abstract
This Chapter describes a reference scenario that has been extracted from current practices regarding the use of Electronic Patient Records in Greece, and in particular in the Regional Health Network of the Region of Crete (HYGEIAnet). At the time of writing, HYGEIAnet is one of the most complete and mature regional health telematics networks in the country. Nevertheless, HYGEIAnet is in continuous refinement and expansion through national and European funding. Consequently, the present Chapter does not aim to present the state of the art developments in HYGEIAnet, but rather to convey a particular instance in the network’s development life-cycle as perceived by IS4ALL.
