Abstract.
Due to its low redshift, Markarian 501 is an ideal target to study parsec scale properties of BL Lac objects. Based on multi epoch, multi frequency VLBI and VSOP observations, we present milliarcsecond resolution images of this TeV BL Lac. Inner jet morphology, proper motion and spectral index are discussed in the light of unified models.
