Abstract.
We present a study of C, N, and O abundances for 24 unevolved metalpoor stars with metallicities in the range -0.3< [Fe/H]< -3. New C and N abundances have been measured using high resolution spectroscopy of the CH and NH bands at 3145 and 3360 Å, respectively. We also discuss the oxygen abundances obtained by Israelian et al. [10] for these stars and delineate the early Galactic evolution of these elements.
