Abstract

The knowledge-based consulting system PRO_PLANT for the environmentally friendly use of plant protection agents in agriculture is being used practically in agriculture since 1993 and shows by the large number of installed versions its high level of acceptance with the user. The knowledge-based techniques used have allowed a constant maintenance and extension of the system since the start of development. Crucial to its success is the integration of different system components, the integration in the system environment of the user and the technical support of the users.
