3.6 Conclusions
The vision of an electronic landscape remains an exciting one, and as graphics technology and higher performance networking become more affordable and available, there are increasing opportunities for the kind of research and development described in this chapter. The iterative approach of the eSCAPE project has been an effective way of understanding the social, aesthetic and technological problems associated with making these worlds meaningful and useful to the general public.
