9.4 Conclusions
Cascade control and ratio control schemes based on PID controllers have been addressed in this chapter. It has been shown that the adoption of recent design methodologies and modifications of the classic control architectures can lead to a faster commissioning of the overall control system and to a significant improvement in the control performance, although the general know-how and the simplicity of use of the basic PID control algorithm is retained.
