Conclusions
The surgical management of USI has advanced tremendously in the last two decades. Each procedure still has risks, requiring meticulous pre-operative counseling. The most appropriate procedure must be chosen for each patient, considering her previous surgical history, her willingness to undergo minimally invasive versus major surgery, and her perioperative risk factors. Careful and sympathetic management of post-operative detrusor overactivity, voiding dysfunction, and rarer complications, is vitally important.
