Conclusions
Anal incontinence and disorders of defecation are more common than is generally appreciated. Such problems need to be elicited carefully in urogynecololgy patients. If minor and rare, conservative therapy may help, but if the problem gives rise to major symptoms, full investigation is needed. Treatment may be carried out in conjuction with the urogynecological condition in certain cases.
