Abstract

This book is an introduction to the science of writing programs, the engineering of software. It is not a book concerned with writing programs in a particular programming language; nor is it a collection of standard algorithms for solving common problems. It is about the creation of software designs which are guaranteed to meet their requirements — that are correct. And correctness cannnot be qualified — software is either correct or it isn’t
