Abstract
In central Tokyo, a house requires few domestic facilities. To eat, one goes to a restaurant; to bathe, the sento (public baths); to exercise, the gym; to be entertained, the cinema. The ultimate Tokyo house is somehow like an art gallery: an empty, inward-focused space, suffused with filtered natural light.
