Abstract

We consider a kind of variational singular perturbation problems with piecewise constant coefficients and unbounded energy. The method of matched asymptotic expansions allows us to give a rigorous proof of the asymptotic behaviour (leading order term) in two examples with elliptic and parabolic limit, respectively.
