Abstract

Molecular abundances vary on dynamically short timescales in the dense gaseous envelopes around young stars. Modeling and observations of the chemistry in molecular clouds suggest the use of different species as clocks to follow the evolution of a dense core toward star formation. We present interferometric and singledish observations of CS and N2H+ in three cluster forming regions, Serpens, Cepheus A, and the Rosette, that show potential new sites of star formation.
