Abstract
We present a premliminar analisys of 131 Herbig Ae/Be candidate stars based on low and/or medium resolution spectroscopy. The objects present a great variety of Hα line profiles and were separated according to them. The presence of [O I] and [S π] forbidden lines is used together with the Hα line profiles to discuss the circumstellar environment of the Herbig Ae/Be candidates.
The great variety of line profiles in the Balmer series and the distribution of [O I] and [S π forbidden lines favor the hypothesis that the circumstellar environment of these stars are observed on di erent evolutionary stages.
