Abstract
Chapter 9 reviews the “traditional” techniques applied to health communication, emphasizing the need to apply different approaches to different targets in different situations. These approaches may involve simple initiatives (e.g., information and referral) or complex endeavors (e.g., behavioral change initiatives). The use of the various forms of media is described and the pros and cons of various media are discussed.
