7.3 Conclusion

Secure Group Communication is an emerging and important application and research area. Even though there have been exciting achievements in SGC key management, much work still remains to be done by researchers and designers. Detailed and comprehensive analyses of complexity and performance need to be conducted. The implementation of flexible, configurable, and scalable secure group communication systems which can be used in many applications in the real world is certainly required in the near future. Finally, since wireless communication is becoming ubiquitous, SGC in wireless environments is a significant field to be investigated.

We hope that more researchers and professionals will benefit from, and join the area of SGC through, this book. The future of secure group communication is very promising.
