Let p be a prime and G a group. A subgroup M ≤ G is a p -local subgroup of G if there exists a nontrivial p-subgroup P ≤ G such that N G (P) = M. Clearly then
$$ 1 \ne P \leqslant {O_{p}}\left( M \right) $$
