A Method for the Development of Combined Floating- and Fixed-Point SystemC Models

  • Chapter
System Specification & Design Languages

Abstract

SystemC is an open source C++ library for creating cycle-accurate or abstract model of hardware architecture, software algorithms and system-level designs. The open nature of SystemC allows users to add features solving issues they faced. Our objective is to propose a solution for the development of joint floating- and fixed-point SystemC models. The presented approach ensures a seamless transition and a flexible solution to analyze the impact of the precision loss along the design.
