Abstract
The history of MIDAS and its evolution over the past 20 years is described. This includes the many upgrades of the system necessary to follow the changes in technology during that time: from proprietary host systems to Linux, from TV-like displays to desktops with window systems. Beyond giving the technical facts, emphasis is placed on showing also the people who made all that happen.
