Summary

This chapter gives a brief description of the theory and experimental methodology involved in X-ray absorption Spectroscopy, both X-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES) and extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS). The advantages and limitations of the methods are discussed. Several examples of applications of X-ray absorption Spectroscopy in the field of photosynthesis are presented.
