Summary
In this second introductory chapter, we discussed the concept of psychological importance and reviewed the findings from earlier studies both in the United States and cross-culturally. We described two theoretical models—five factors and ego states—and the ACL scoring systems based on them. We discussed the matter of concept favorability as it relates to the various factors in the two theoretical models. We concluded the chapter with an overview of the remainder of the book.
