Abstract

When electronic correlations in magnetism and pairing in superconductivity are described in the simplest fashion by the Hubbard model and the BCS model one finds remarkable properties of small systems which are absent in the bulk. We discuss here (for a few selected examples) the present status of the theory of cluster magnetism and of superconducting grains.
