Abstract
In this paper constitutive equations are formulated describing the fluid-solid interactions and damage behaviour of unsaturated porous materials. The fluid-solid interactions are described by coupling coefficients dependent on the degree of saturation, strain and damage state. Simplified expressions for these dependencies are developed. The model is illustrated by analysing the swelling and compressive damage behaviour of unsaturated materials.
