Conclusion
We have developed several gene delivery systems. Low molecular weight transfection reagents such as lipoglutamates, lipoglutamides (PEG-lipids) and glycolipids are expected to compact DNA molecule and to control intracellular trafficking of DNA after endocytosis. Chitosan polymer is useful DNA carrier to enhance the expression of gene or antisence DNA. Based on this basic research in vitro, we are going to apply these transfection reagents to gene therapy.
