A Proposal of Personalized Information Distribution System Using Smart Watch and Wireless Headphones

Abstract

There is a huge amount of news information on the Internet while the Internet user is interested in a part of the news information. It takes a cost to find the user’s interest news from a huge amount of news information. In this paper, we propose NEAR, which is a smartphone application that learns the user’s interest and provides a limited amount of news information based on the learned interest. By using NEAR, users do not need to search for his/her preferred news information. In addition, NEAR can provide the preferred information by voice to know the information without looking at the smartphone’s display. In this case, the proposed NEAR can provide voice-based information from the user’s smart watch in addition to his/her smartphone. This is for a situation where each user does not use his/her own smartphone such as the congestion on the train. Evaluation results show that NEAR can provide many amounts of user’s preferred news information compared with the text-based conventional application. This is because the users browse many amounts of news information from the proposed NEAR and the proposed NEAR learns his/her interest from many times of past browsing.
