In Thailand, there is a guideline for mining according to Thailand environmental law which has been enforced since year 1992. It stated that for all activities related to the mining business, it requires all project owners to submit an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report and get an approval from National Environmental Board before start doing anything. Thus, in this chapter, the author will provide an information from Thai environmental law related to mining. Also, the incident of Mae Moh coal power plant would be illustrated as a case study to see how the pollution problem was managed in Thailand.
